Hi guys! I wanted to inform you about this great thing that is happening!

These smart fellows have devised a way to create cups, straws, mixers, etc that can detect common date rape drugs. This is an amazing idea and it needs funding! The campaign ends in 35 hours and they are a little short on funding. Please, signal boost this or even give a dollar if you can, it’s a great cause and something that will really change the world!

gogogo!

Only 28 hours left! Check this out and spread the word!

donate or signal boost, they still have about a fifth to go!

IF YOUDONT REBLOG YOU SUCK

Hey! This is pretty awesome, so I thought I’d share here. Even if you can’t donate, signal boosting the fuck out of this is important!

Patricia.

This closed on December 29, and I’m not talking about last December 29. So…. yeah.

I wonder if it made it…

It got the funding, not sure if anything happened with it…

If I ever opened a bar, I would certainly try to get those cups and straws.

29 Baffling Rules of Life in Video Game Universes

Probably because of plasma, or whatever is used to keep the energy held together. After all, you can’t see a bullet whiz through the air, but you can see the bolts from a Star Wars Blaster move from the weapon to it’s target.

True, but the bullets hit instantaneously, and the plasma slowly moved across the screen.

Well, you still have to project the energy, and there is the whole E=MC^2 thing. A tiny bullet launched by a chemical reaction reaching supersonic speeds, of course it would be instant. But the energy required to launch energy AND plasma wouldn’t work in a gun. Especially if you also need the energy to create the plasma in the first place.
I think I’m more interested over how they can carry the generator needed to create plasma (or even simple shoot energy) in something the size of a large gun…

”It’s not easy for people to understand my discomfort with the spotlight, they say, ‘Why would you become an actor if you feel that way?’ People don’t know what to do with those feelings, they feel you’re ungrateful, and that does kind of kill me. You can’t be saying, ‘You’re wrong about me,’ the worst thing is if you remotely sound like you’re complaining. Then you become the misconception.”

Happy 24th birthday, Kristen Jaymes Stewart! (April 9, 1990)

Honestly, I get where she’s coming from. I don’t like being in the spot light, but I’m an actor. Sure, I can be a ham, but generally if the focus is on me, I shy away, like if it’s a party, or a ceremony where it’s all about me, I don’t like that. But with hosting an event, or being on stage, or presenting something I made, then it isn’t about me. It’s about the event, or the play, or the poem/story. I can put all my energy into that. I can smile, and laugh, and make jokes with the audience because it’s all for the event. Plus, with playing a role, with acting, you aren’t you. You are the character. Sure you draw on your personal life, but if you simply “act” then it’s not as good. You have to stop being yourself for a while, and become somebody else, which is what makes acting so wonderful. Granted, that’s how it is for me, it could be different for her.

Also, she is beautiful and has a lovely smile. Why do we like Patterson, but hate her?

When I’m a teacher, I will be Giles. I’ll only be 25, but I’ll still be Giles.

Natural selection.

Fair point.

We need to start awarding the Darwin Award at a younger age, honestly.

Avoiding spoilers on tumblr

And people wonder how I already knew the entire plot of Frozen before seeing it, or how I know the end of The Fault in Our Stars (although I had that one…

Oh good. I really do think you’ll like it.

Me too. I’ve been wanting to get into John Green’s stuff for a while (I almost preordered tfios and got it signed), I just haven’t gotten around to it.

All his books are wonderful. TFiOS is coming to theaters in June and then they’re about to start working on Paper Towns. Which I’m rather excited for.

I’ve read a little about Looking for Alaska, which thankfully isn’t quite as popular on tumblr so I still don’t know what it’s about, although I know it is heart wrenching (which is just to be expected). Also I know there’s a sort of countdown in it.

Alaska is just a little west of Canada.
